About the Artist
Biography
Sultana A. Sultan is a visual artist based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, working primarily in figurative and wildlife oil painting on wood panels.
Her practice explores the quiet emotional connections between people, animals, and the world they share. Moving between intimate portraits and larger narrative works, her paintings reflect an ongoing interest in vulnerability, companionship, and quiet strength.
Artist Statement
I'm drawn to the moments that reveal something about who we are without needing words.
Whether I'm painting a person or an animal, I'm interested in what exists beneath the surface: the individuality of my subjects, their quiet strength, and the connections that make them meaningful to us.
Painting allows me to give those moments a presence of their own. I work in oils on wood panels, building each painting through observation, color, texture, and an evolving dialogue with the subject.
Ultimately, I want my paintings to invite people to look a little longer, feel something familiar, and perhaps recognize something of themselves.
